How times change and yet remain the same!
This time last year I'd just visited London Fashion Week (LFW) as a guest of one of our corinacorina.com suppliers, Jacob James Hats, who were exhibiting at Esthetica. Having just returned from this years LFWend event where I attended on behalf of a corinacorinacommmunications client, Chaos Visual Productions, I figured a retrospective was in order.
OK, so I have to admit it, I was a little disspointed when due to some strict client restrictions it was necessary for me to wait until LFW became LFWend before I charged backstage waving my camera and notepad. I understood, of course, and it made perfect sense for all the clients involved...but then there was this tiny little fashion snob inside of me whispering "but its fashion weekend?! this means just anyone can go right? just buy a ticket and turn up? no exclusive invitations, no covetted passes to shows, no being the first to experience the new collections" Riduculous I know, and embaressingly shallow...but hey! I work in fashion and PR, it's all about the show darhlings! haha!
So, from swanning around with a buyers pass last year (boy does that little baby get you some attention!), to hawking my butt laden with camera, ipad, notepad and water swinging an AAA contractors pass, i have to say the contrast was stark and the revelation very, very interesting.
Maybe it's because I went with my work head on (of course I am always fully focussed on the job in hand and can concentrate even when rails of dresses are swishing past me *ahem*), or maybe it was because my expectations of any actual 'fashion culture' were rather low (anyone who's ever been to the Clothes Show Live will know where I'm coming from here...if rugby scrums for t-shirts and screaming at half naked male models are your thing then you'll love it.....but that's another story!). Perhaps it's because I'm a natural organiser, and am used to seeing the workings of an event, or perhaps I'm just more comfortable with a task in hand than a glass of champers (actually! might have to check that one but you know what I mean!), but, I have to say, I loved every minute of LFWend. The atmosphere was cool but not too try hard, the fashion was interesting but not too testing, the people were chilled but not too look at me, and the real bonus? What people who love fashion really want to be able to do? SHOPPING!
Here's a few pics, I hope you enjoy!

Hey folks! Well, if you know me you'll know that very techy website stuff really isn't my thing, I get there - slowly - and sometimes with some pennies thrown into the swear box along the way, in fact I generally much prefer to just leave these things to the experts! However, having said all that, and by my own fair hands, here we are with a new extension to the corinacorina brand, and I don't think it looks too bad even if I say so myself!
As you may, or may not know, the last few months have found me re-visiting my past experiences and career, and working again in the wonderful field of marketing communications, and it's great to be back!
Since closing the retail store part of corinacorina last year, we've been concentrating on a new collection (more on that very soon over at corinacorina.com), and have been working away doing what we do best with vintage and designer clothing via the website and various fairs and events.
As busy as it's been, not having to man the shop means that I am now free and flexible to also pursue other things, and what I really enjoy, and my past career of *ahem* years - marketing, comms, PR and events, called me back.
So, corinacorina communications is here! We think it balances perfectly with corinacorina clothing, and it means that our combined experiences span the corporate and the independant business worlds, a pretty valuable and unique viewpoint to have I hope you'll agree.
Watch this space then for our ccc comings and goings, news on projects, and maybe (ok probably!) various random thoughts and feelings from me! First up! We're off to London Fashion Week tomorrow! Yey!
Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear what you think about the corinacorina developments, so if you have questions or comments - get in touch!
All the best
Ella x
nb. we're still waiting for the transfer of the domain name to the proper hosting...*drums fingers...hovers penny over the swear box*;)

Well well well...here I am...almost at bloggety blog stage...if I hadn't made such a major hash-up of setting up this new domain in the first place then I'd be well on my way by now....but hey ho! one lives, one learns, and what one will do in the future is read the instructions! Back soon....
